Amadou Haidara Defends, Leipzig's Defense
Amadou Haidara, the French footballer who played for several clubs including Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, has defended his decision to join Leipzig on loan from Real Madrid.
Haidara, who was born in Senegal but raised in France, made his professional debut with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in 2014 before moving on to play for FC Metz and then returning to France for the second time to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2016.
He had been linked with a move away from Paris but returned to the club after being offered a new contract by the club's president, Didier Deschamps.
After spending two seasons at the club, he signed a three-year deal with German champions Leipzig for £55 million.
"I have always wanted to be part of this team," Haidara said in a statement released by the club.
"It is an honor to have such a good coach like Didier and my friends and family there."
However, despite his success at Leipzig, Haidara has also faced criticism over his behavior off the pitch.
In particular, he has been accused of using his position as a player to manipulate referees and score goals against his opponents.
Despite these controversies, Haidara remains committed to Leipzig and has expressed his desire to stay at the club.
"We want to keep him here because we believe that he can bring a lot to the team," a Leipzig source told reporters.
"Of course, if there are other options available, we will look at them carefully."
